MARRIAGES - HEBREW TEMPLES

This  list  records  two  Hebrew  temples  both  of  which   were
established during the decade 1831 to 1840 and each recorded less than
fifty marriages in their registers,  in fact  the  combined total  being
41. Unfortunately in neither case has  the  marriage register been
located.

The information recorded for each marriage is as follows:
               date
               groom
                    family name
                    Christian name
                    year and ship of arrival
                    civil status at time of marriage
                    age at marriage
               bride
                    family name
                    Christian name
                    year and ship of arrival
                    civil status at time of marriage
                    age at marriage
               reference number

The two temples listed by date of establishment are:
            1832:Temple Sydney {SYDH}
            1838:Temple Port Macquarie {PM-H}

The  marriages  within each temple are  listed  in  chronological order.

Of the grooms, five have been identified and for the brides eight.
Two marriages had at lease one partner who was a serving  convict and
following the practice in this work it is assumed  that  the consent
of the Governor was required.

In the abscence of access to the parish registers the New South Wales
State Archive reference numbers have been retained.

To  locate an entry on this list; firstly an alphabetical  search on
the name would be made on Lists 3 or 4 then using the  temple code
listed  in the table above the date of  marriage  would  be retrieved,
secondly  using the appropriate  date,  the  marriage would be located
on this list.
